Timeback
I built Timeback to answer a question contribution graphs cannot: how much time did AI actually give me back, and what evidence supports the estimate?
- Local-first analytics
- Git + GitHub evidence
- 365-day history
The question
Commit counts show activity, but not the complexity of the work or the time compressed by AI. Timeback combines repository history, working-tree changes, pull requests, and observed AI-session time to build a more useful account of the day.
What I built
The native macOS app scans chosen workspaces, groups related worktrees into products, detects signals such as tests, migrations, UI, APIs, and authentication, then explains its estimate in plain English across day, week, month, and year views.
Designed for trust
Everything stays on the Mac. Estimates are conservative, every result keeps its evidence close, and GitHub enrichment reads pull-request metadata through the user’s existing authenticated session without uploading source code or prompts.
